In 2007 Bishop Hubbard asked Sister Katherine
Arseneau csj, to become the Parish Life Director
of St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Troy.
This was not a huge departure for Sr. Kate,
since she formerly served in a leadership
position as Principal in a number of schools,
including Catholic Central High School. She
joined the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet
in 1963 and taught in schools in the Diocese of
Syracuse before coming to serve the Church of
Albany.
“St. Michael’s is a very active and vibrant
parish…. The people are wonderful. I love being
here every day,” says Sister Kate who oversees a
parish of some 1500 families. “More and more
people are participating in the many parish
activities and ministries we offer at St.
Michael’s,” says Sister and she sees a growing
number of new parishioners as well.
“Our parish is a family where the Lord calls
each of us to care for and to serve each other.
I feel very blessed that the Bishop asked me to
come to St. Michael’s.” |
